Update 2004

Over five hundred reports of sightings of unusual
animals were reported to ARFRA during 2003.

Reports of sightings of Thylacines were received from
many areas. Descriptions varied from animals which
closely matched the known appearance of the Tasmanian
Tiger, to reports of Thylacine - like animals without
stripes, or of varying colours.

Reports of sightings of big cats were also received
from all states. Research is continuing in an effort
to determine the identity of the species involved.
Several reports of unusual predations on livestock and
wildlife were also reported.

Reports were also received of animals which were
unable to be identified from the descriptions given.

The Association presented several talks to the public
in early 2004 outlining the current research and
receiving reports from witnesses.
